Anti-Chloasma Facial Sunscreen SPF 25 protects against chloasma – dark brown splotchy areas on the face that occur in 70 percent of pregnant women. Features Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide, the safest sunscreen ingredients during pregnancy, to guard against UVA rays, UVB rays, and environmental pollutants.
This product is oil free for all skin types. Estrogen and progesterone are thought to make pigment-producing skin cells (melanocytes) react more strongly to sunlight, causing dark brown splotchy areas on the face known as chloasma or “the mask of pregnancy.” Chloasma affects up to 70% of pregnant women. Chloasma is preventable by daily use of a facial sunscreen. Look for sunscreens containing titanium dioxide and zinc oxide a they have higher SPF, need to be applied less often, and have no links to birth defects in medical research (unlike some other common sunscreen ingredients).
Anti-Chloasma Facial Sunscreen may be worn alone or underneath makeup. Smooth onto skin several times daily to protect from sun’s rays. Apply liberally before sun exposure and as needed.
